Examination/Initial Licensure
In order to become a licensed architect, an intern architect must be admitted to and pass the Architect Registration Exam (ARE) as administered by NCARB. All sections of the ARE must be passed within a five-year period in accordance with the NCARB rolling clock.
The Mississippi ARE Application fee is $60.00. This is a one-time, non-refundable fee. Additional exam fees are payable to NCARB.
Intern architects have two options for admittance to the exam through the Mississippi Board:
1. IDP COMPLETE
Interns with a NAAB degree who have completed IDP in accordance with Rule 1.02 should utilize this option. All that is required is the NCARB IDP Council Record ('Green Cover') and the Mississippi ARE Application. Choose one of the following links to access the online or printable IDP Complete application.
